Academic Integrity Policy

Last updated July 7, 2026
Draft. This document is a scaffold and has not yet been reviewed by counsel. Do not rely on it as a binding agreement until it is finalized.

Scriba is a study workspace, not a ghostwriter. This policy explains the line we draw between assistance and academic dishonesty, and what we expect from every student who uses the product.

1. What Scriba will help you do

  • Read cases in a distraction-free reader.
  • Tag passages you have read yourself into FIRAC sections.
  • Generate flashcards from rule statements you have highlighted.
  • Draft outlines from briefs you have authored.

2. What Scriba will not do

  • Write a graded essay, memo, or exam answer for you.
  • Fabricate case citations. Case names carry a “verify” chip until you check them.
  • Cite passages you have not highlighted.

3. Your obligations

You are responsible for complying with your school’s honor code and any assignment-specific rules on AI use. When in doubt, disclose your use of Scriba to your instructor. Every export ships with an AI-disclosure appendix that you may attach to submitted work.

4. Enforcement

We may suspend or terminate accounts that are used to submit AI-generated work as the student’s own in violation of an academic policy.
