Prepping for cold-call
A 10-minute pre-class ritual using briefs, cards, and the Assistant.
Cold-call panic is almost entirely a problem of not being able to find your own notes fast. Ten minutes with Scriba solves it.
- 1Open the day’s daily note — every reading for class is already linked.
- 2For each case, re-read your Holding and Rule sections out loud. That’s 60% of the answer to any cold-call question.
- 3Skim your Analysis section for the two or three facts the court leaned on.
- 4Run today’s flashcard set — even five cards refreshes the vocabulary you need to answer confidently.
The Assistant can quiz you on your own briefs. Ask it, “Ask me five cold-call questions on today’s reading.” It only draws from what you’ve highlighted.
